    Where did 8 months go?

Yesterday Tate had his 8 month birthday and I can't believe it.  Where did it go?  I look at pictures and I can't believe he was ever that small and at the same time it seems like that was just yesterday.

Big news on the Tate front, on Labor Day, September 3rd Tate cut his first tooth!  And he has not been the same boy since.  In addition to this teething thing which is now in full swing, I think he's starting to go through a clingy phase.  He doesn't like to be alone and he would always rather be held.  And he's a little more whiney than he used to be.  But he is also napping better than ever and last night had his 3rd night in a row of a straight 12 hours of sleep without waking up to eat.  So we take the good with the bad and we still can't believe it's possible to love him more and more every day!

    Other firsts:
    • Yesteday Tate had his first trip to the zoo.  He somehow seemed more interested in holding and ripping the zoo map than any of the animals but we had fun with friends Michele and her daughter Ainsley and Lynn and her son Aiden.  Lynn and I worked together years ago and have gone through pregnancy and baby together as Aiden was born just 3 weeks before Tate.  I was so lucky to have a friend to go through all of this with!  Michele is a friend from Lynn and my PEPS group. Tate also ate his first teething biscuit and loved it so much that it is now a must have.
    • On the same day as Tate got his first tooth, we installed his new car seat.  We have officially retired the infant seat which is again, good and bad.  Less convenient not to have the portable seat but less heavy to carry Tate without it.
    • While we tried a Cheerio in Twin Falls last month, we officially gave them to him last week and he likes to eat them but would rather throw them.
    • Tate now has a blankey.  It's a small square one that he likes to clutch while he's going to sleep.  It gives him some comfort and I'm all for it. :)

    And other happenings:

    • On August 22nd we celebrated our neighbor and dear friend Bob's 80th birthday with a backyard party.  It was so much fun and we finally got to meet Bob & Jane Ann's children, Lynnann and Todd.  Tate had fun playing with friends Charle, Katie and Josie Self.
    • The house addition is going well - I can't believe how much they've been able to get done in a short amount of time.  The roof is on now and they are finishing the siding this week.  Next steps plumbing and sheet rock...
    • For some reason I decided to change my haircolor and I made it really dark.  That lasted about two weeks until I had it lightened again and now it's somewhere in the middle.
    • We've seen lots of friends lately like The DiMarco's who came over with Danny last week and the boys got in some bonding time.
    • Cousin Natalie came by for some breakfast and Tate time in her fancy new Mercedes :)
    • We've also spent some time with new baby Cole Apacible who was born on August 11, exactly 7 months after Tate!  (happy 1 month birthday, Cole!)
    • We also saw Uncle Jeff and cousins Amy, Matthew and Anna on Labor Day when they came over to play.  We all go to go next door to see Choo Choo Bob and his famous train set and then we went to the new park in Magnolia to play.
    • Later last week we went down to Fairwood to Grandma Judy and Grandpapa's house for Grandpapa's birthday party!  We got to spend more time with the cousins and Aunt Dorianne and had a great party.
    • Then Grandma Judy and Grandpapa spent time with Tate on Sunday which was Grandparent's day so that Scott and I could go to the home opener of the Seahawks.  We even got there in time to tailgate with Uncle Ross and Aunt Dorianne :)
    • Tate also now has a new nanny, Neisha.  She spent some time with us getting to know our routine and Tate is sure to have a fun time with his new friend.

And that's the long and the short of it.  Hope everyone else is doing well!

    Love, Dawn, Scott & Tate
